New England

Kansas City
Seattle
Dallas
Cincinnati
Indianapolis
Buffalo wins this close one with Lee Evans returning to old form.
Detroit comes through to beat the Buc's, guess I shouldn't have questioned Kitna's reliability
Chicago beats Philly with a last minute drive, and who are the Bears?
Denver comes up with a surprising win over Pittsburgh.
Week 8:13-0
Pittsburgh over Cincinnati- Any team with a semi-decent offense can beat Cincy 9 out 10 times, so Mr Scottish-Slurrer had this one in the bag.
Indianapolis over Carolina- I just can't pick against the Colts, plus Carolina is having some quarterback issues if you didn't know.
Detroit over Chicago- The bear were who I thought they were this week, and so was Detroit. Kitna is Kapable, and Griese is Game-to-Gameable.
New York Giants over Miami- Once again a team with a Manning and a Defense verse a team with no Quarterback equals a win for the Giants.
Philadelphia over Minnesota- Minnesota's last ranked pass defense made the decision easy because well, McNabb is still Donovan McNabb.
Cleveland over St Louis- The Cleve-Show is the Real Deal Peeps! O yeah and the rams eat dank.
Tennessee over Oakland- Tennessee defense vs Oakland offense? Oakland Run Defense against Tennessee run offense? The nod goes to the Tennessee run game every time.
Buffalo over New York Jets- The Bills defense showed spots of strength against Dallas (5 Interceptions on Romo), and if you can impatize Dallas, then the Jets wont be hard.
San Diego over Houston- Last year would you ever have believed this would be one of the hardest games of the week to pick? But LT is still LT and now Chris Chambers is there.
Jacksonville over Tampa Bay- No quarterback in Jagtown? No problem, they got a defense. Got a quarterback in Bucsville? Problem, Jags have a defense.
New England over Washington- BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
New Orleans over San Fransisco- Battle of the two teams I wanted to win this year, but just haven't done very well. Saints are on a comeback streak.
Green Bay over Denver- Favre is more superhuman, than maybe ever in his career, the Denver pass D can't contain him.
Baltimore over Arizona
San Diego over Green Bay
St Louis over Tampa Bay
San Fransisco over Pittsburgh
Detroit over Philidelphia
New York Jets over Miami
New England over Buffalo
Minnesota over Kansas City
Indianapolis over Houston
Seattle over Cincinnati
Cleveland over Oakland
Jacksonville over Denver
Washington over New York
Carolina over Atlanta
Chicago over Dallas
New Orleans over Tennessee
So week one was not nice to me and my upset picks. I definitely picked the wrong ones, but week two went a couple games better.
Week 1: 8-8
Indianapolis
Minnesota
Washington
New England
Denver
Pittsburgh
San Diego
San Fransisco
Green Bay Wins/ Philly Loses- Pack Defense looks solid, but maybe Philly shot themselves in the foot with nearly 80yds in penalties
Tennessee Wins- The Titans RUN all over the Jag's usually tough and gritty defense
Carolina Wins- Jake Delhomme and the Panther Crew look more like the team I picked to be in the Super Bowl last year and less like the Shames.
Houston Wins- The Texans come out and look solid under the direction of the Squak, Squib and Schaub.
Seattle Wins- This was my upset pick for the week, Alexander brings it together in the second and Garcia doens't have enough.
Detroit Wins- Kitna looks unbelievable and the Raiders look as though they could get the number 1 pick again.
Dallas Wins- Yes this was a hope not a belief. Eli did look well, but unfortunately T.O. is still the guy.
Baltimore Loses- This should be a win for me, the Ravens got this one stole. Horrible offensive pass interference call in last minute. I wont accept it.
Week 2- 10-6
Indianapolis
San Fransisco
Pittsburgh
Green Bay
Jacksonville
Seattle
Dallas
Denver
Chicago
Baltimore
Houston Wins- I am starting to wonder if Tony Danza, Danny Glover, and Christopher Lloyd are part of the Houston management, because this turn around is almost ridickulous. Ya Gotta Believe!
Cleveland Wins- So Cleveland could win some more games as long as they continue to play against teams that apparently use the Ol' arena football adage " The Best Option, is to just let them score". This game was ripenisulous.
New Orleans Loses- Wow remember the time the Saints sucked? It's too bad that Cleveland doesn't just play Cinnci and N.O. all year. Derek Anderson would look like John Elway.
Minnesota Loses- You can't have 96yds in penalties and 5 turnovers. Even if you knock out the other teams quarterback you will lose. The Vikings continue to suffer from a lack of discipline. Can anyone control this team?
New England Wins- I just think that I might be glad I won't get to watch the 08 and 09 seasons of the NFL, because I think Brady could pick up enough rings by then to move on to the other hand. Like this team is riwangulous, I cannot believe that they are as good as they look. I am worried about the AFC championship game this year, lets hope the Pats slow down and the Colts keep up.
Washington Wins- Jason Campbell looks good, and Philly did too. No touchdowns though? This is frusterating for Eagle fans because it was a clean and well played game from the boys in green. To bad they couldn't convert.... on ANYTHING!
Hey, here it is, what we have all waited so long for. Tonight is opening kickoff for the 2007 NFL season. But before we go on and talk about this season, lets take a look back at Last Season. NFL Films put this montage together, and is it ok if I teared up a little bit?
Alrighty here are Week 1 picks
Indianapolis over New Orleans - Yes Colts have a bad run defense, but the Saints have a bad pass defense. I see Peyton coming out on top.
Philadelphia over Green Bay - Green Bay is always a tough pick, because they are equally capable both ways, but McNabb (even not at 100%) looks good.
Minnesota over Atlanta - I wish I could have faith in Harrington, but I don't think the Falcons organization can recover so fast from disaster. I like the young Vikings.
Washington over Miami - Once again going with a young QB here, I hope Campbell does well here, and what is Trent gonna do, Hook N Ladder, maybe halfback pass, or possibly the Onion Bloom.
New England over New York Jets - Ahh, I don't believe all the hype about the Pat's but the Jets will have to Re-impress me this year before they get props.
Jacksonville over Tennessee - I think this will be a tight game, with the Jags running away with win.
Denver over Buffalo - Watch Travis Henry run wild on the Bills defense, thus allowing Cutler to put up sufficient numbers for a smooth win.
Pittsburgh over Cleveland - Sorry Browns fans, I would have picked them if you know who was under center. Willie Parker will take advantage of the Men In Orange, and take it to the house.
St Louis over Carolina - Marc Bulger and Steven Jackson should be more than this once superstar defense can take.
Kansas City over Houston - I think LJ will be fine even if he gets 50 carries a game, the big boost for KC is having A, as in singular, starting quarterback.
Tampa Bay over Seattle- CFL Alumni, Retuned Cadillac, and Remixed Defense, this is my upset for the week.
San Diego over Chicago - I really almost took Chicago here, and then remembered a little man who is on the Chargers. 31 TDs huh?
Oakland over Detroit - I mean who do you pick? Here are two teams, that are honestly starting all over again. Between these two teams they have new quarterbacks, running backs, recievers and defensive backs that are all supposed to take star roles.
New York Giants over Dallas- I predict an early showing of Manningy goodness from Eli, and some Snap, Crap!ple and Drop from the Cowboys.
Baltimore over Cincinnati - This is Steve McNair's night of the year to go big, and it will be on a hurting Bengals unit.
San Fransisco over Arizona - This is my project team this year. I think that not very many problems have been solved in Cardinalville, and most of them have been solved in the Bay.
Burris and the the passing game of the Stamps will determine this game. I say, for the better. Calgary over Toronto
Winnipeg's blatant attempts to get Stegall the record will hurt them in the end. Edmonton over Winnipeg.
I really hope Saskatchewan wins this, but I gotta take Dickenson here. B.C. over Saskatchewan
If Hamilton will stay with one QB for the game I see a Tigercat win here. Hamilton over Montreal
Winnipeg over Montreal
Edmonton over BC
Toronto over Hamilton
Calgary over Saskatchewan
BC over Toronto
Edmonton over Winnipeg
Saskatchewan over Montreal
Calgary over Hamilton
Alright everyone I am taking this chance to make all you football-lovers a lot happier. What is the most exciting game
from the 2006 NFL season?? If you answered Bengals vs Chargers then you are along with more than 50% of the NFL.com fans who voted that the most exciting game of 2006. It featured over 700yds passing, 12 touchdowns and 260yds receiving by one player. This was truly and entertaining game, tonnes of scoring, quick change of possession and most importantly airing the ball out. Well if that is the kind of football you like, then you would enjoy the pass friendly CFL. There is one more week of preseason play and then on June 28th week one of the 2007 season begins. This is entertaining and quick paced football, 3 downs, much larger field and bigger endzone are all factors that help this bombs away style of football. Take for example Fri June 16, 2006 when the BC Lions defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 45-28. BC quarterback Dave Dickenson threw 28 of 34 for 362 yards and 5TD's in just 3 quarters of play. Or maybe July 8 2006 when the Calgary Stampeders defeated the Roughriders 53-36. Calgary quarterback Henry Burris passed 263yds and 3 touchdowns, ran for another in his 48yds rushing. Saskatchewan pivot Kerry Joseph threw for 334yds and 3 touchdowns and ran for 62 yards. The most impressive feat in this game was the 23 point outing for Stamp's kicker Sandro DeAngelis. DeAngeles went 6 for 6 for field goals including a 52yard attempt.
So that should be some incentive to watch, and if you are still questioning your ability to watch this season, check the all New Availability to American Viewers. So I highly advise figuring out if you can get into the CFL season this year.
Welcome to the league where pass is always first and where anyone can win any week.
So I am just getting into the phase of the off season where I have gone back and watched highlights for almost every
important game in the last 2 seasons, read up on all the stats, and started studying depth charts. My desire for football is in full swing and with the CFL preseason underway, I am just itching for any source of football emotion. So today on NFL.com I saw an intriguing story headline "Brett Favre's father passed away years ago, but Favre still remembers how his death inspired one of the greatest performances in NFL history." How could I not read that? So here is the link to a chunk of Bretty's book, FAVRE. This focuses on the Monday Night Game against Oakland after his dad died. It is actually pretty good and it gave me the emotional and football related boost that I was in need of. Enjoy!
